AC Replacement in Savannah, GA: What to Expect
Savannah's coastal position shapes every cooling decision for area homeowners. Summer temperatures climb to 91 F while humidity holds steady at 75%, pushing the heat index well beyond what the thermometer reads. That persistent moisture creates heavy latent cooling loads from May through September, and mild winters averaging 40 F mean air conditioning carries nearly the entire annual thermal load. Nineteen licensed contractors serve this market, collectively earning a 4.0 average rating across over three thousand customer reviews.
Pricing reflects system capacity and efficiency ratings. A basic 3-ton central AC runs $5500 to $11000, while mid-efficiency 4-ton units span $7500 to $14000. High-efficiency 5-ton systems reach $9500 to $16000. All Georgia contractors must hold either a Class I (restricted) or Class II (unrestricted) license from the State Board of Conditioned Air Contractors, verifying their qualifications before any installation begins.
Several companies field crews that customers mention by name. PlumbPro draws praise for Jessie, Mickey, and Conor Quill, with reviewers noting consistent service quality. Air Therm's Robert, Woody, Tyler, and Zac appear across multiple five-star reviews, and Comfort Pro's Justin and Brandon receive recognition for responsive, informed service with same-day or next-day arrival.
